The Pre-raphaelite Fascination

Preraphaelite art has always held an irresistible charm for us at Wild Rose and Sparrow. The luminous colours, the petal-light, flowing fabrics and mythological themes transport us to other worlds filled with ethereal beauty and forlorn, forgotten places.

Peopled with lithe nymphs, tragic heroines, powerful enchantresses and beguiling sirens, preraphaelite art transcends the everyday world and draws on the literature and poems of Romantic authors, as well as greek and roman myths for its themes. For the first time in European art, women were being viewed as strong and as the wielders of their own destinies.

This pre-raphaelite fascination has translated to our world in flower-strewn hairclips, delicate, graceful scarves and rich, saturated fabrics that have all of the rustle and texture of a J.W.Waterhouse painting.

There’s something charming about livening up a demure outfit by pairing it with a bold, outrageous bag. It can be that whimsical touch in a world of the everyday or the bright pop of colour that makes you smile.

Good news: We have created the PERFECT bag, suiting any and all tastes. From an elegant, monochromatic look, to an exciting, down-the-rabbithole print, we have it all!

This line of bags is ready for any adventure: from carrying baguettes in Montmartre to toting about a camera in Venice, these prototypes have carried all of life’s necessities across 2 continents and still remain fresh and stylish wherever they go!

P.S. While winter’s gray is still clinging on, here are a few creative colour combinations to liven up your wardrobe: fuschia and navy, daisy yellow and cocoa, aqua and beige, burnt orange and black, royal blue and white, cardinal purple and pale gray, and dusty pink and marron.

Be the quiet person with the loud bag.
